The palliative management of malignant pericardial effusion: a case history

A case history illustrating the way in which malignant pericarditis may mimic advanced malignancy and yet be effectively palliated by specialist interventions is presented. The distinguishing clinical features and the need to seek these diligently are highlighted. A brief review of treatment options is included.
