Nonmetastatic manifestations of malignancy: hormonalSt George's Hospital Medical School, London Symptomatic endocrine abnormalities in malignant disease may arise either from deficiency states or from the inappropriate or ectopic secretion of a hormone. The clinical picture of the commoner syndromes is described in this review, together with the surgical or medical palliation which may assist the patient.
